Durg SP said that Mahadev book a young man from Bhilai Nagar subdivision to Goa who operated online betting. Make him work there. When he said he would return home, he was taken hostage. They also demanded Rs 20 lakh. He pressured his family members to call them that he would be released after paying Rs 20 lakh.
This is the second incident in Bhilai.
On July 23, two youths from Dhamtari were brought from Bhopal and held hostage in Hotel Heritage in Supela. In this case, four accused including Shahrukh Khan were arrested by the police. Both the youths were taken into custody. Ten days later, the absconding accused Bhalladev was arrested.
Mahadev had taken the young man to Goa to feed online betting. They are not allowing him to come home, alleging damage. A team has been sent on the information. The situation will be clear once the accused is caught.
The operation will be done by forming a team.
The incident was reported to the police. SP Shalabh Sinha ordered an immediate inquiry. The team led by Bhilai Nagar CSP IPS Nikhil Rakhecha and IPS Prabhat Kumar left for Goa.
