Australia has defeated India by 6 wickets in the World Cup final. In the final match, Australia showed better performance and defeated the Indian team in all three aspects – batting, bowling and fielding. Bowling first, the match was coming under the control of India in the first 10 overs, but after the dismissal of hitman Rohit Sharma, India’s run rate became very slow and wickets kept falling, due to which the Indian team’s score was only 240 runs.
In response, Australia batted better and won the match despite losing three early wickets. Travis Head scored a century and Marnus Labuschagne scored a half-century and Australia won the World Cup.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who came to watch the match, wrote on social media that “Dear Team India, your talent and determination throwout the World Cup was noteworthy, you have played with great spirit and brought immense pride to the nation.”
The Indian team played brilliantly throughout the World Cup, winning all its matches including the semi-finals. The team played brilliantly and also defeated Australia in its league match.
