MPL Bought GamingMonk and Team

Popular online gaming platform Mobile Premier League (MPL) has acquired New Delhi (Saidulajab) -based esports gaming platform GamingMonk.

As part of the transaction, MPL has bought the complete GamingMonk team. This deal will allow MPL to accelerate bringing to market key national, regional and global tournament IPs and allow MPL to develop a full suite of e-sports and broadcasting capabilities, MPL said in a statement.

GamingMonk currently comprises a registered user base of more than 13 Lakh.

For those unaware, GamingMonk hosts esports tournaments traversing multiple platforms comprising PC, gaming console & smartphones. The esports gaming platform acts as a launchpad for publishers & a community for gamers creating an integrated ecosystem spanning esports, live streaming & content discovery.

MPL has moreover launched Esports Arena, the banner under which the platform will be hosting fortnightly esports tournaments in few of its top games like chess, WCC, pool, Poker etc.
